My work is marked by a concern for marriage of material and form and is drawn together by a strong sense of both logic and play. Using familiar objects as a starting point, I play simple games using the objects own inherent rules and physical properties to transform them, often employing processes such as repetition, permutation, multiplication and duplication.
The idea of the ‘game’ enters into my work on a variety of levels: literally, through my choice of materials; through the rules I set for play; and through my interest in exploring the notion of possibility, alternate endings and the natural progression of things. |
